The 2022 season witnessed two of the most significant transfers of the last few years in the cup series. Toyota and JGR lost their most successful driver of all time, Kyle Busch, to their cup rivals RCR. While Richard Childress lost one of the promising young talents of the sport, Tyler Reddick, to the second Toyota team in the garage 23X1 Racing.

Joe Gibbs Racing failed to find a suitable sponsor for Busch, resulting in his exit. RCR took the opportunity and signed the veteran, as Reddick previously signed a deal with 23X1 to join the team in 2024. Reddick had to join the team early after Kurt Busch was ruled out of full-time duty in 23 due to a concussion he suffered.

Richard Childress Racing has announced the sponsorship lineup for their 2023 campaign. Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen will be the premier sponsor for the team next season. 3CHI, Alsco, Lenovo, and BetMGM will partner with Busch for selected races in the second season of Next-gen cars. All these sponsors were partners of Tyler Reddick this year.

Our business relationships are paramount to our organization, and we’re proud to confirm that our primary partners on the No. 8 team will be returning to RCR in 2023. Their commitment to our organization is a testament to our team’s collaborative approach and the value it has delivered to so many great brands,” said Torrey Galida, president of RCR, in an official press release regarding the announcement.

Kyle Busch’s sponsorship lineup will be a thing of concern for 23X1 Racing and JGR

Tyler Reddick’s move to 23X1 came ahead of the scheduled period and has provided the team with a small-time frame to secure new sponsorship deals. The 23X1 garage was hoping to see Reddick sponsors following him from RCR, and with the Busch announcement, it became clear that that won’t be the case.

Monster Energy sponsored Kurt Busch and Ty Gibbs in 2022 but has yet to resign a deal with either team.  Ty Gibbs will replace Kyle Busch in JGR, and it will be vital for them to secure some sponsorship deals in his debut here. Tyler Reddick now needs new sponsors, and it is still being determined whether Monster energy will sign for Reddick, who will replace Kurt, or remain with Gibbs during his promotion.

JGR or 23X1 will have to find a prime sponsor in 2023, as it’s doubtful that the firm will sponsor both drivers next year. JGR has the most trouble since they failed to attract sponsors for Busch this year, and finding someone long-term for a rookie is a tough job.
