Kyle Busch came into Sunday’s Cup race at Atlanta high on confidence. He won the Truck Series event on his debut race Spire Motorsports and was hopeful that he could continue the impressive form. He did exactly that on Sunday as he squeezed his way up and found himself in the battle for a win, surviving a speeding penalty and multiple wrecks.

Busch found himself in a three-wide battle for a win against Ryan Blaney in the No:12 Penske Ford and Daniel Suarez in the No:99 Chevy of Trackhouse. The two-time Cup champion made the race three wide after squeezing his way up in the middle lane and found himself in a battle for the win with Blaney on the inside lane and Suarez on the outside.

They raced it out to the finished line and almost crossed the line together. After analysis, NASCAR pronounced Suarez as the winner. Blaney finished P3 behind Blaney at P2. The No:8 Chevy was just 0.007 seconds behind Busch. After the race, Busch took it to social media to share his thoughts on the finish.

Can’t get much closer than that. Needed a couple inches. Fast Cheddars Kitchen Chevy car today, excited about the strength we’ve shown to start the year. Home turf next week.

Busch’s wife Samantha Busch who came across the post had the best and most savage response one could hope for. She picked on Busch’s needed a couple of inches more admission and commented on an adult joke. Samantha Busch wrote, “I have been telling you that for 20 years.”

Kyle Busch is happy for Daniel Suarez

Busch while talking about race results pointed out that he is happy to see the No:99 Trackhouse Chevy on the victory lane as they are at the end of the day Chevy partners. He believes the win showed that the right alliance within Chevy can get them wins.

It’s good to see Daniel Suarez get a win because as Chevy team partners we were helping each other and working together there. It shows that when you do have friends and you can make alliances that strategy does seem to work. That was a good part of today to see that come to fruition.
Busch said, as reported by Speedway media.

Busch was teammates with Daniel Suarez at Joe Gibbs Racing. They have had some good moments as teammates, but their journey together ended quickly as JGR had to replace Suarez due to his inconsistent performance.
