The Ambetter 301, the 20th round of the Cup event this season, will be held at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, the Next-Gen cars’ first appearance on a circuit. With the competition for playoff positions and the regular season title heating up, the 1.058-mile Cup race will undoubtedly be one of the drivers’ most competitive outings.

With three victories under his belt, including the most recent Atlanta Cup victory, Chase Elliott now holds the top spot among HMS drivers. Teammate William Byron is second with two victories. Kyle Larson, the current Cup champion, and teammate Alex Bowman both have a record of solo victories, which they undoubtedly hope to add to.

Chase Elliott will go into Sunday’s race hoping to continue his winning run which can increase his chances in his regular season championship pursuit as he hopes to clear Ross Chastain at P2 in the table closely following him. Kyle Larson on the other hand will be hoping to get back to winning ways before the playoffs as he hopes to defend his cup championship this season.

Talking about the upcoming race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Loudon, Kyle Larson acknowledged that the track hasn’t been one of his best-performing ones in the past though he had some good runs on it. He points out the track reminds him of the Indianapolis Raceway Park where he has run some races in his USAC  days. Kyle Larson said that he wishes to get to the victory lane this time at the track besting his previous runs at the track.

Loudon isn’t a track I have done a particularly great job at in the past, but I have had a few good runs there. I do enjoy going there because it’s a different style track and reminds me of IRP (Indianapolis Raceway Park) where I ran some USAC races back in the day. I’m hoping this weekend is a little more successful than past races and that we can get our HendrickCars.com Chevrolet into victory lane,” Kyle Larson said.

Kyle Larson’s teammate Chase Elliott acknowledged that he wants to better himself in every aspect of racing as the coming races are the places where he needs improvements. He points out that New Hampshire hasn’t been kind to him in the past as he is yet to have a powerful performance at the magic mile.

We want to be better at every aspect of our game. When I look at the weeks ahead, think the next two are important places that we need to improve at. Loudon has not been a very good place for me. We’ve had a couple of decent runs but nothing earth-shattering,” Chase Elliott said.

The No:9 driver went on to say that the Pocono Raceway has also been the same for him as he is yet to best his rookie year run at the track, just like NHMS. He points out that he has a strong team backing him and he only needs to unlearn some things going to these tracks and get a good restart in the coming race weekends.

“Pocono (Raceway) is kind of the same way. I don’t feel like I’ve run well up there since my rookie year, so maybe I just need to forget everything I’ve learned between then and now and restart. We want to be good at all the tracks and I think we’re a strong enough team where we can do that,” Chase Elliott added.
