Christopher Bell wins New Hampshire Cup Race
Christopher Bell, the No:20 Toyota Camry driver for Joe Gibbs Racing, has been on the verge of missing out on his already meek chance at a playoff spot as he failed to perform consistently as he would like and as he was doing in the earlier races this season. But Bell has now turned around his 2022 season as he marked his spot in the upcoming cup series by topping the charts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday.
The youngest Toyota driver on the grid has an absolute dominating run over the field in New Hampshire as he was 4 seconds faster than Chase Elliott and 11 seconds faster than Bubba Wallace at P3 at the finish line. Christopher Bell lead the last 42 laps of the race and was successful in holding off Chase Elliott, the championship leader towards the end of the race while Wallace successfully defended Martin Truex Jr. to secure his P3.
Christopher Bell’s 3 Xfinity win that came in the track definitely enabled him to go far the kill at the track as had some good understanding of the track as he was able to get to the win. Kyle Larson finished P4 while Kevin Harvick, one of the dominant cup racers on the track finished P5, making him the fastest Ford of the day. Brad Keselowski had his best finish of the season with p7 while the Trackhouse duo once again finished inside the top 10.

Christopher Bell acknowledged that the win was a much-needed one for him as he had a hell of a race day this Sunday. He added that it was a fun race for him as he had a blast of a night racing against Kurt Busch, Joey Logano, and chasing Elliott running different lines. He went on to point out that he is happy to get the Joe Gibbs Racing No:20 team back to the victory lane in a long time.
“Man, that one was much needed right there. I’ll tell you what. That was a hell of a race from my viewpoint. That was so much fun. Racing with [Kurt Busch], [Logano] and [Elliott]. We were all running different lines. That was a blast. Just so happy. So happy to be here at Joe Gibbs Racing. All of our partners on this No. 20 car. It’s good to get Rheem back in Victory Lane,” Christopher Bell said.
Christopher Bell went on to say that winning the cup races are hard as he thanked the fans who came out there to support the drivers. He went on to share his pleasure with the win as the last couple of weeks have been a spiral of bad results for him as he failed to deliver consistently, which makes his winning run here pretty special.
“Man, winning Cup races is hard. You [fans] are awesome. Thank you for coming out, but it just seems like we’ve been so close, and then we’ve fallen off a little bit last week. I was talking to my best friend. I told him I said earlier in the year, I felt like we were right on the verge of winning, and in the last couple of weeks, I felt like we were pretty far away. But here we are today,” Christopher Bell added.
