Tyler Reddick has been one of the most impressive drivers of the 2022 season as he was able to get over his bad luck in instances of coming close to the win as he secured his first career cup win in Road America topping Chase Elliott. Reddick who had the best season to mark in the cup series this season made some eyebrows raise with the unprecedented announcement of his move from RCR to 23X1 Racing which will come to effect from the beginning of the 2024 season.

The M&M’s Fan Appreciation 400, the first of the last six races of the 2022 regular season, will take place at the Pocono Raceway in the 21st round of cup competition. The regular season championship race between Elliott and Ross Chastain and the playoff race will intensify, and fans will be hoping to see fireworks on the three-cornered 2.5-mile flat track. There is a greater likelihood that a winless driver who is above the playoff cut-off in terms of points will not qualify for the playoff.

Tyler Reddick acknowledged that there are a lot of unknowns about the track as per his conversation with the drivers who have run test runs at Pocono. He added that turn 1 of the track is probably faster than it has ever been which has upped the stakes at the Tricky Triangle as he expects the eye-opening race for him.

Man, there are a lot of unknowns. I’ve talked with a lot of drivers about how the testing went. The Tunnel Turn is probably faster than it’s ever been, driving even faster than you ever have into Turn 1, there are a lot of things that have just upped the stakes at the Tricky Triangle. It’s going to be an eye-opening weekend,” Tyler Reddick said.

The No:8 Richard Childress Racing Chevy Camaro ZL1 driver acknowledged that they are going to have to learn really fast because of the fact that the length of the track means drivers can only complete limited laps around the track in practice just like road courses. He points out that understanding the track in both qualifying and practice is going to be challenging for the drivers.

We’re going to have to learn really fast. It’s another one of those tracks where we’re only going to get so much practice and very similar to how road courses have been with the length of the lap that we run at Pocono we’re only going to get a few numbers of laps to get familiar with the car that you have and then try to make some good adjustments on our Sheetz Chevrolet going into qualifying. It’s going to happen quickly for us on qualifying and practice day,” Tyler Reddick added.

Tyler Reddick went on to say that he has been haunted the whole season, with the Next-Gen car, closing out the entire race. He points out that the Next-Gen car makes the pit-road stuff or restarts critical as the new car has brought the garage a lot closer. He added that the competition in the truck series has never been this close in the cup series which calls for more efficient management of races.

More than anything is kind of what has been haunting us most of this season which is trying to close out the entire race. With this Next Gen car, all the little details matter more and more, whether it’s pit road or restarts, It’s all very critical. This Next-Gen car has brought the entire garage closer together. The competition is closer than it’s ever been. You just have to go out there and manage your race,” says Tyler Reddick.

Tyler Reddick went on to say that drivers have to give their 100 percent to get to the finish line as they have been fighting the whole year to get better results in the races.  He added that it is great to go to have his first win At Road America as they had a perfect day at the road course which he wish to have once again at Pocono.

You’ve got to give it 100 percent but you can’t cross that line and so for me, it’s something that we’ve been fighting and trying to get better all year long. It’s great to go to Road America and win like we did because we know we can have a perfect day. That’s what it will take to win Pocono and that’s what we’re going to try to do,” added Tyler Reddick.
