The 2023 Cup seaosn has witnessed the redemption of Martin Terex Jr. after a disappointing winless run on the Next-Gen car’s debut season. Joe Gibbs’s driver has found his mojo and has become the leader of Toyota’s 2023 Championship fight. He has won three races and has been a contender in most events this seaosn.

The return to form has also made him extend his contract for one more seaosn. At the same time, the determination and hard of the driver played a huge role in his return. Truex Jr. wasn’t to credit his team for it. According to him, their hard work last seaosn is paying off, enabling him to enjoy being the lead driver of TRD and JGR.

“Certainly, my team is doing a great job. They have all year long, and we’re just clicking. I think we made a lot of changes and did a lot of things last year to try to learn, and those things are paying off this year, We’ve always been known to be aggressive and have been learning setups for this car and just learning as much as we can,” Speedway Digest quotes Truex Jr.

Martin Truex Jr. remains cautious of their impressive seaosn and is ready to continue fighting for the regular seaosn title with just two races left in the regular seaosn. He is hopeful that they haven’t peaked too early this season. The TRD driver said, “Hopefully, we haven’t peaked too soon, and we can keep it going and continue to do what we’ve been doing throughout the playoffs.”

When asked about how important the upcoming two races will be pointed out that it is business as usual for the team, and he wants to maximize the results and secure the regular seaosn championship. His major rival is none other than teammate Denny Hamlin. He wants to secure the bonus points with the regular season title and ensure a deep playoff run.

It’s an opportunity to lock up a lot of bonus points, and that’s what matters in the playoffs. Every race is equally important. All 26 matter, and all 26 can earn you points and do things that will help you in the playoffs. For us, it’s business as usual, and these races are all important,” Truex Jr. said.
