Joe Gibbs Racing has set a new benchmark for the 2024 NASCAR social media content with their latest video during this year’s production day shoots.  To recreate a hilarious moment, the Toyota team surprised the fans by sharing a video featuring the 2017 Cup champion Martin Truex Jr. wearing a Dale Earnhardt Jr. disguise.  

The video recalls Dale Jr. calling the 2018 Chicagoland Cup race final laps battle between champion drivers Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch. Junior’s hilarious “slide job…slide job” comment during the event has many fans. The No:19 Camry driver didn’t have to have many changes in appearance to act in the role, as he and Junior share some facial similarities.

He only had to wear glasses to appear like the Hall of Famer and Junior. Jeff Burton‘s depiction also caught the fans’ eye as he was shown solving the Rubix cube while giving some random comments in the booth. The JGR social media team has properly showcased its talent and has set a new standard for the 2024 season.

Junior and Martin Truex Jr. have close friends whose relationship goes back to the DEI days when they were teammates. Truex Jr. got his big NASCAR break via the team co-owned by the Earnhardt family, and since then, has shared a great relationship.

Fans on social media were overjoyed with the video and were surprised how the JGR PR team was able to convince Truex Jr. to do the stunt. They were quick to appreciate the driver as well as the PR team for the “accurate depiction” of the incident.

Alongside Martin Truex Jr., the JGR guys who played Jeff Burton also garnered attention, as many claim he stole the whole show. His expressions while playing with the Rubix cube really impressed the fans on social media.
