Stewart-Haas Racing driver Ryan Preece met with a horrific crash during the closing laps of Saturday night’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway. On Lap 157, Preece got bumped by Erik Jones and tagged his teammate, Chase Briscoe, in the process. He then slid into the infield grass before rolling over several times. The flip eventually stopped, and the 32-year-old walked away unharmed. Given the intensity of the crash, it was a miracle that the driver crawled out safely.
After the scariest wreck of his career, Ryan Preece shared a message on social media. He posted on X (Formerly known as Twitter), “If you want to be a race car driver, you better be tough. Dammit. Fast race choice, Ford Performance Mustang. I’m coming back.” This message undoubtedly lets everyone know that he is all right. The NASCAR community was shocked by the wreck and hoped the driver was unharmed, and thankfully, Preece walked away unhurt from the accident.
After flipping over ten times, Ryan Preece’s Ford Mustang came to a halt and appeared to be on fire. The medical staff rushed out to attend to him. Preece was then assisted by an ambulance to the infield care center. SHR announced shortly after that he was moved to a local hospital for further analysis. Though there are no additional details on his condition, Ryan Preece’s message on social media helped fans know he is doing fine.

Chase Briscoe and Chris Buescher showed support for Ryan Preece after his terrifying crash
After Chase Briscoe was released from the medical center post-evaluation, he expressed concern and support for teammate Ryan Preece. Briscoe stated that he was thinking about him and praying for him. There were no indications of Preece’s injuries due to the crash. However, considering the number of times the car flipped over, the 32-year-old will need rest.
Chris Buescher, who won the Daytona regular-season finale, spoke about Ryan Preece’s crash. He said that a rollover crash can beat one up and praised how safe the race cars are. He told the media, “It’s a dangerous sport. We know that getting in. Sometimes we push it a little too far in the back of our minds. I know (Ryan Preece’s) crash was jarring just from the little bit (of the video he’s seen of the incident).”
