In a significant development for the NASCAR Cup Series, Ryan Preece, steering the No. 41 Ford Mustang for the Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), has joyfully affirmed his continuation with the SHR team for the 2024 season. Preece firmly solidifies SHR’s 2024 roster, joining forces with Josh Berry and Chase Briscoe.
The announcement was made during a SiriusXM NASCAR Radio interview on the Sirius Speedway show, where Preece expressed his excitement about the upcoming season. The conversation unveils Preece’s optimism and reflections on recent races and strategic improvements at SHR.
The anticipation surrounding Preece’s return is palpable, with the driver expressing his excitement for what lies ahead. When asked about how his 2024 season is going to look like, Preece said, “I’m going to be here with the No. 41 and Stewart-Haas Racing next year.” He replaced Cole Custer as a full-time driver for this year and is going to stick with the team for the next season as well.
His NASCAR venture with SHR began in 2023, marked by hurdles but underscored by recent progress, notably a stellar fifth-place finish at Richmond. Despite the bumps in the 2023 season, Preece is undeterred. A pole win at Martinsville and a promising Richmond performance showcase his resilience. However, it hasn’t been all smooth sailing for the team.

Ryan Preece is excited about the development at SHR
In Preece’s words, the frustration stems from being “on the wrong end of one of the last three parts.” However, Preece’s gaze is firmly fixed on the future. “Moving forward, I like the direction of the things that we’ve been working on here at SHR,” he shared, emphasizing the team’s strategic evolution.
The prospect of racing at Talladega with formidable superspeedway cars has Preece brimming with confidence. His excitement is palpable as he discusses the upcoming challenges, notably the mile-and-a-half races in Las Vegas—a territory where he aims to defy previous performance patterns.
“Some of the things that we worked on, I feel really, really eager, excited to get to Las Vegas,” Preece expressed, providing a glimpse into the meticulous preparation happening within SHR. The anticipation extends to races at Martinsville and Phoenix, where Preece believes the team has a distinct advantage.
As the NASCAR silly season unfolds, Preece’s confirmation amplifies the excitement surrounding SHR’s lineup completion. The No. 10 entry remains the missing piece, heightening the intrigue. Preece’s journey, a mix of challenges and triumphs, sets the stage for a compelling 2024 season with SHR.
