The premier stock car racing series will start the celebrations of its 75th anniversary season with the second season of LA Clash at the Colosseum. NASCAR Cup Series full-time Charters will field their cars in the 0.25 race at the temporary Asphalt track. Defending Cup champion Joey Logano will be the defending winner of the event.
One of the main attractions of the 2023 February 5 event will be the halftime show of Rap sensation Wiz Khalifa. He will perform after the first 75 laps of the main event for the drivers and fans in attendance. In 2022 the halftime show was led by rapper Ice Cube and the show, along with the performance, was a resounding success. NASCAR is hoping for a similar day this year.
Wiz Khalifa is excited to perform for NASCAR fans in LA. He said, “The NASCAR cars will bring the noise, and I’ll bring the party. We’re going to have a great time celebrating together at the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum, and I can’t wait to see everybody there,”.
NASCAR senior vice president Ben Kennedy expects a performance that will keep fans on their feet from Khalifa. He said, ““Wiz Khalifa is a gifted and talented performer with a worldwide following. I know the fans will be on their feet during his performance at the Busch Light Clash as we celebrate the beginning of our 75th Anniversary season together,”.
Veteran Rap band Cypress Hill’s pre-race Music concert will kick-start the calibrations of this season. Last season’s pre-race performance was by Trackhouse Racing co-0owner Pitbull. The pre-race and half-time performances will be aired live on Fox on February 5. The heat races and qualifiers will be broadcasted on FS1.
