Justin Marks and Ross Chastain

Trackhouse Racing No:1 Chevy Camaro ZL1 driver Ross Chastain has signed a multi-year contract extension with the Justin Marks-Pitbull-owned team.  The 2022 Cup runners-up had a breakup season last year as they scored two wins and were the leading top 10 and top 5 finishers last year. He was awarded the Driver of the Year honor by NMPA.

The watermelon man was on his way out of the Cup series last season after Justin Marks purchased the No:42 Chip Ganassi team’s assets. Marks decided to allow Chastain to prove himself, and he took it with both hands. He outclassed teammate Daniel Suarez and was a championship contender till the final laps of the season finale. Chastain marked himself in NASCAR history with the “Martinsville wall ride” last season. It is recognized as one of the most significant moves of all time.

It’s taken a lot of years, a lot of hard work and sacrifice, plus a lot of help from a lot of people, but I can safely say I have found a home at Trackhouse Racing. There is nowhere in the world I would rather be and nothing I would rather do than race in the No. 1 Chevrolet in NASCAR for Justin and the people at Trackhouse Racing,” Chastain said about his extension.

Ross Chastain is the type of driver and type of person we want representing Trackhouse Racing, our employees, and our corporate partners. You saw what Ross did with us in our first year together, and we think the future is even brighter. He brings determination, dedication, and commitment to his job on and off the track, that uplifts everyone in our shop. I’m proud he is part of our organization,” Justin Marks said.

Fans were pleased to see Chastain inking a new deal with Trackhouse as the Florid native has grown into one of the fan favorites. Some Stewart Hass Racing fans expressed their disappointment as Chastain was a perfect replacement for retiring Kevin Harvick. A few fans also trolled Denny Hamlin, who has a beef with the No:1 driver.
