Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, and Justin Marks have formed a consortium to take over CARS Tour, a regional late-model racing series. The grass root NASCAR series which will mark its 9th season in 2023 has produced some of the most promising young NASCAR talents in the current Cup Grid. HMS’s William Byron and JGR’s Ty Gibbs are a few of the prodigies who perfected their trade in the series.
The owner’s group led by Dale Jr. hopes to preserve the legacy of the regional racing series and level up the vents to ensure NASCAR has promising young talents going forward. “To bolster the health and longevity of the CARS Tour by providing proficiencies in brand management, business strategy, and partnership acquisition and retention,” the owner’s group said in a press release.
The new group has a few of the greatest NASCAR minds of all time, and they have a huge fan following that could benefit all parties involved. Dale Jr. is one of the most marketable faces of the sport. Veterans Kevin Harvick and Jeff Burton have already showcased their skills outside the track as team owners and in NASCAR official roles. Trackhouse Racing owner Justin Marks is one of the prominent business minds of the sport and has a lot to contribute towards the new venture.
The new takeover is a dream come true for Dale Earnhardt Jr and Kevin Harvick, who are deeply connected with late-model racing. Dale Jr. said, “This is a dream come true for me. I’m a huge fan of the CARS Tour and local short-track racing. The competition, the tracks, and the drivers are some of the best around,”.
“I grew up racing Late Model Stock Cars on the West Coast. Late Model racing has always been a passion of mine, and I want to ensure short-track asphalt racing and the CARS Tour continue to grow and succeed,” Kevin Harvick stated.
