Nothing seems to be able to stop Kyle Busch in 2022. The winningest driver in NASCAR history has scored his second NASCAR race win of the season. Busch led his team, the KBM No:51 team, to the victory lane and finished the race 4.98 seconds ahead of the runner-up and defending champion, Zane Smith.
Busch led 83 of the 134 laps to win his fourth race on his home track. Busch now has the chance to sweep the whole NASCAR race weekend. On Sunday, he will race in the Xfinity series with Kauilg Racing ahead of the Cup race. With the form, he is in, if Chevy teams continue to deliver such high-performance cars, the veteran will continue his victory lane visits.
“There were a couple dicey moments in traffic—not too bad—but I would have loved to have raced with Zane. They kind of got off strategy where we were able to cycle up, and we got clean air for most of the start of that last run,” Kyle Busch said.
“He came through the field and got to second, and we kind of maintained. If we’d have been able to race it out, it would have been a hell of a show. But all in all, just a great night here, to be able to win in Las Vegas again—and you’ve got to win the first to be able to win all three. Right?” Kyle Busch added.
Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain was wrecked out early in an incident involving John Hunter Nemechek and Hailee Deegan. 2021 Champion Ben Rhodes the race at P3, and his teammate Ty Majeski finished P5 behind Corey Heim at P4. Christian Eckes, Carson Hocevar, Chase Purdy, Grant Enfinger, and rookie Jake Garcia completed the top 10.
In case you missed it: “You’re not allowed to compare anybody to Dale Earnhardt,” Dale Earnhardt Jr.
