“Make sure there’s a rainbow car on the real version,” Twitter reacts to the NASCAR kicking off its 75th Anniversary edition with Pasadena Rose Parade entry
NASCAR's Pasadena Rose Parade concept art
The 2023 NASCAR season will mark the 75th anniversary of the sport. The milestone will be celebrated season-long, starting with the LA Coliseum Exhibition race. The upcoming season also marks the introduction of the Chicago Street race to the schedule.
NASCAR will participate in the iconic Pasadena Rose Parade in California on January 3. The premier stock car series will field a float named “Always Forward”. It will commemorate the diamond anniversary season and the upcoming clash at the Coliseum.
The float will feature iconic cars driven by NASCAR legends such as Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt. It will be a checkered flag theme and feature the LA Memorial Colosseum. The float will be 55 feet long and 25 feet tall from the bottom to the top of the flame.
Patrick Rogers, NASCAR marketing president, explained the decision to participate in the parade. He said, “There’s truly no better way to enter NASCAR’s 75th year than by celebrating at an event that brings people together through immense creativity and color. With a theme closely resembling the growth of our sport and organization,”.
How NASCAR Twitter reacted to the announcement
Fans had positive reactions to the sport joining the parade. Most fans were disappointed by the fact that the concept art does not feature seven times champion Jimmie Johnson’s iconic No:48 car. NASCAR instead went for Jeff Gordan’s No:24 car.
