The 2022 NASCAR cup series witnessed some of the most impressive and entertaining driving by the cup contenders. Rookie of the year Austin Cindric and regular-season champion Chase Elliott are among the selected few who made significant strides this season.

Cindric marked his name in NASCAR history by winning the season opener Daytona 500 and has been one of the most consistent drivers since. His championship quest came to an end in the Round of 12. 2022 was the year of resurgence for Elliott after having an abysmal 2021 season. He was the most consistent driver of the season, and his championship chance ended after an unfortunate collision with Ross Chastain in the season finale.

Though the cup season is over, the duo isn’t going to stop racing. They will run in the upcoming Nitro Rallycross, the Travis Pastrana-created series. They will square off against former F1 world champion Jenson Button alongside some Rallycross veterans such as Pastrana, Kevin Eriksson, Fraser McConnell, and Oliver Bennett.

They both will compete in the Group E class. It features all-electric FC1-X cars. The unique vehicles will produce the electric equivalent of 1,070 peak horsepower. This will be their debut race for Cindric. Elliott does have previous x-games experience.
