Ty Gibbs, the rookie NASCAR driver, feels that he totally ready to take on the challenges of the sport.

Ty Gibbs is in his rookie NASCAR Cup season this year and has recently shared his thoughts on his goals for the season. He has also talked about how he intends to approach the upcoming races. The young driver is aware that it is one thing to make it to the NASCAR Cup series. However, it is a whole other thing to keep racing in the sport.
Ty Gibbs is only 20 years old and, so far in his racing career, amassed quite a bit of fame for himself for his past exploits. He won the ARCA Menard series in 2021, and, most recently, won the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity championship. He drives for his grandfather’s team Joe Gibbs Racing, and it puts him in the spotlight as any single mistake from him won’t be tolerated by the fans. The notoriety Busch has gained as a selfish and aggressive racer in the Xfinity series also doesn’t help.
Now that the young driver has made it to the NASCAR CUP series this year, he is determined to make his mark in the sport. While talking about it, he told Motorsport, “For me, I don’t really try to look at expectations. It doesn’t really bother me. I work as hard as I can and I want to do the best I can every single weekend. “If my best is winning the race, then it’s winning the race. If it’s finishing 10th, then it’s finishing 10th.”
He further said, “I don’t go into any race and say, ‘I can’t win,’ unless we get damage or something like that happens. I’ll dream as big as I can dream and keep working as hard as I can.” Looking at what Gibbs has said about the challenges that lie ahead of him, one thing that can be said for certain is the fact that, he has got a lot of self-belief. The kid is not afraid and is fully committed to doing the work that is required. However, he has admitted that sometimes your best is not enough to win the race.
Chris Gayle’s thoughts on Ty Gibbs NASCAR prospects
While Ty Gibbs is totally upbeat about the challenges that lie ahead of him, his Crew Chief, Chris Gayle, is aware that stepping into the big leagues can take a heavy toll on rookie drivers. He has a wealth of experience and is fully aware of when to guide young rookies and when to let them do their own thing on track.
Gayle, who has previously served as Chief for Erik Jones, while talking about Gibbs NASCAR prospects, said, “It’s a tough spot to be in, especially if you get down on yourself. He’s won all these races in Xfinity and to step up now and the competition level is so high – I don’t want to ever dampen his fire.. He has that intensity and he wants to go be competitive right now. What I basically have to have conversations about it, here is kind of where we should be. we’re still on course, even if we haven’t achieved these super-high lofty expectations that most rookies never do.”
Chris Gayle has made it known that he has got faith in Gibbs to do what he desires in the sport. However, has also admitted that it is his responsibility to keep a balance. He feels that would help the young driver not get too ahead of himself, as it could have a detrimental effect on his performance. Gibbs is s sure contender for a win this year and has a high probability of scoring a win with the superior package JGR has. His fellow Rookie of the Year contender, Noah Gragson, doesn’t have the car capable of winning races.
