“We had a super-strong day for our No.1 Chevy Camaro,” Ross Chastain remain positive after his DNF at Darlington

Ross Chastain who drives the No.1 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Trackhouse Racing has had a pretty decent race at this week’s Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway if not for his dissatisfying crash at the beginning of stage 3.
Ross Chastain has had an amazing season so far with two victories, one at COTA and the other coming at Talladega and he also placed within P3 four times and a P5 with his other outings being across the grid with his fair share of three DNFs including this week’s Goodyear 400 at Darlington.
Ross Chastain seemed to have a promising run at the Throwback Weekend at Darlington paying tribute to Dale Earnhardt Jr. and had won the stage 2, as stage 3 commenced, he ran in the front with Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano and slammed right into the inside wall forcing the 7th caution of the race and leaving him out of the competition for the win.
“I’m proud of the effort,” says Ross Chastain optimistically despite crashing at Darlington
Ross Chastain pretty much had the chance to win his 3rd victory this season but little did he know his efforts were about to end in vain as he crashed at the beginning of Stage 3 forcing a caution and a restart, he said that he is pleased with his performance of his car and was battling the balance all day and yet kept up with the lead.
“We had a super-strong day for our No.1 Coca Cola Chevy Camaro. We were fighting the balance all day. We were racing with those guys for the lead,” said Ross Chastain.
He further added by saying that he assumed he could make the turn from the inside but lost balance and ended up spinning into the inside wall at turn 2, and also said that apart from the unfortunate crash, it was a pretty decent run.
“I just thought I could run the bottom there off of turn two and exit the patch. I just got loose on the transition and spun out. Aside from that, it was a perfect day on the track and on pit road,” added Ross Chastain.
He concluded by saying that he is extremely satisfied with the effort and the grip his car had and is looking forward to the next race at Darlington this fall season.
“I’m proud of the effort; I’m proud of the grip our car that our car had. We’ll come back here in the fall and give ourselves another shot,” concluded Ross Chastain.
With Ross Chastain standing 5th with 364 points despite a DNF at Darlington, will he succeed at converting his next outing at Kansas into a win next week?
