Joey Logano wins the 2022 Goodyear 400

NASCAR fans were in for a treat at Darlington as the throwback week offered them an amazing race weekend with controversial finish at the end as veteran Joey Logano came out victorious in his No:22 Team Penske Racing Ford Mustang after he took out Hendrick Motorsport No:24 Chevy Camaro ZL1 driver William Byron who was cruising for his 3ed win of the season.

Joey Logano who was behind the leader William Byron in the last lap of the race slammed the HMS young gun, who was the only driver to remain at the Top 5 since the race began as his fellow front runners fell back because of multiple issues, to the wall from the rear in Turn 3. A furious William Byron was quick to call out the veteran being over aggressive and moron post-race.

Joey Logano, the 2017 Cup Series Champion on the other hand was unfazed by such allegations as he suggested that he had been called worse things in the past by drivers as well as fans. Joey Logano who is notorious for his aggressive driving style defended his decision pointing to an early race incident where Byron forced him to the wall.

NASCAR twitter was divided on the issue as some fans came in support of the veteran as they accepted the Joey Lugano’s defence where as another session claiming Joey Logano used unnecessary aggression to win the race. Some neutral comments were in favour of the competitive racing the duo had produced.
