Richard Childress Racing veteran driver Kyle Busch is the winningest driver in the history of NASCAR. He has won more than 50 races in the Truck and Cup series while having over 100 wins in the Xfinity series. The two-time Cup champion is known for his consistency and ability to win races making him a future first-ballot NASCAR Hall of Fame entrant.

But fans would’ve never got the opportunity to see the champion driver in action along with his 2004 Cup title-winning brother Kurt Busch. In a podcast appearance, the ex-Xfinity series champion pointed out that while growing up, his mother didn’t want him racing but instead wanted him to be an Orthodontist.

But his father Tom Busch is the main reason why the champion started his racing career. Busch Sr. who worked a normal job, used his off days to race with his sons and help them be the strong contenders they are now. Kyle Buch has learned a lot from this racing experience he had with his father Tom Busch and his friends.

A lot. He was basically the main reason why I got into racing. If you ask my mom, she wanted me to be an orthodontist. Having that time of just being able to understand, having my dad teach me … my dad had a normal job and was home and we would travel on the weekends and race together … my dad and some of his other good friends who are in racing, we all worked together, I learned all from them.

How the 2023 season has been for Kyle Buch

After racing for one and a half decades with Toyota team Joe Gibbs Racing which yielded him two Cup titles and Xfinity titles, returned to the Chevy garage. He joined RCR replacing Tyler Reddick who later moved to TRD team 23XI Racing replacing injured Kurt Busch.

He had an impressive start to the season, that saw him winning the second race of the year at Fontana. Busch continued to have a solid reason for winning the regular season race at Talladega and later at Gateway.

But the impressive ride didn’t last long, as he started to experience a massive performance slump due to the drop in speed of RCR cars and some unforced errors. He was eliminated in the first round of playoffs due to poor form. Going into 2024 RCR some serious issues are they’ve to tackle.
