NASCAR Cup Series team Rick Ware Racing has announced the signing of Justin Haley to drive either the No:15 or No:51 entry of the team from the 2024 season. The 24-year-old driver is racing for Kaulig Racing’s No:31 Chevy Camaro ZL1 in the premier stock car racing championship. He will make his Ford debut at RWR.
He has primarily been a Chevy athlete but has driven one race for a non-Chevy manufacturer. He raced the No:31 Toyota for Braun Motorsports once in the Truck Series at Martinsville in 2016. Haley was signed by Kauig Racing in 2019 after a P3 finish in the Truck Series championship with GMS Racing the previous year to drive the No:11 Camaro. In 2019 he won the Coke 400 with Spire Motorsports.
He spent three years in the second division with the team, scoring the best finish of P3 in the championship, ahead of his Cup promotion in 2022. He drove a packed part-time schedule with Spire in 2021 as well. From 56 starts with Kaulig in the Cup series, he has secured ten top 20s, with half finishing in the Top 5. His best Cup finish is P2, which came in the inaugural Chicago Street Race.
RWR owner Rick Ware while talking about signing Haley to a team that his son Cody Ware used to drive for, said that he is expecting great success with Haley behind the wheels of their Ford Mustang. He backed his expectation by pointing to the success Haley has had in many motorsports events. Ware is also impressed with the work ethic of the driver.
“This is a great day for our team on many levels. Having someone with Justin’s talent and background become part of our future is a testament to our commitment to growth over the past few years. I have known Justin for a long time, respect all he has achieved in many forms of motorsports, and look forward to great success together,” Rick Ware said in a press release.
Ware pointed out that the driver’s versatility will give them the luxury of building a team around him in the future. He said, “His versatility as a driver in multiple series, the continuity we can build around Justin, and the respect amongst his peers will pay great dividends for our team. He will be a great teammate for the RWR/RFK Racing alliance.”

Why did Justin Haley choose RWR?

Haley’s decision to leave Kaulig, a team on the rise for many seasons, has raised some eyebrows in the Cup garage. He is leaving a team that has the potential to become a contender for all tracks than just Road courses soon to a team that is usually a backmarker if the driver doesn’t have the support from a top Ford team like SHR or RFK Racing.
Justin Haley believes the RWR move is the right path for him to progress in his Cup career. He has the support of RFK Racing and many other partners going into next season, and it’s a key factor behind his decision to join the team. The youngster looks forward to making his mark in the top division from 2024 with the team.
“This is a unique opportunity that I look forward to. There are many key pieces of this program I believe can help me in taking the next steps in my NASCAR career. I look forward to working with our key partners, and many additional RWR partners to be announced soon. The alliance with RFK Racing is going to be pivotal for the future of our on-track success,” Haley said.
