The 2022 season has been a revelation for Trackhouse Racing, the NASCAR team owned by veteran driver Justin Marks and pop sensation Pitbull. In just two years from the team’s founding, it has established itself as one of the teams to beat in the cup series. Since its inception, Trackhouse Racing has been more than just a squad for the organization since it demonstrated a novel and perhaps effective approach for teams to operate their business both on and off the track.

Trackhouse has established itself as one of the clubs to beat and a clear contender for the championship in just its second full-time season in the cup series. Ross Chastain and Daniel Suarez, the team’s drivers, have already been able to lock up playoff positions after combining for three victories this year. Ross Chastain marked the first two wins of his career and the team’s history at COTA and Talledega while Daniel Suarez scored his victory in Sonoma, which was also his first career win.

When we analyzed the growth of Trackhouse racing as a team in the cup series it can be seen that their development in the cup series has so much to do with the introduction of Next-Gen cars to the grid aimed at promoting more competition in races. The plan has definitely helped Trackhouse, the new team on the grid to start everything from the drawing board and be as competitive as they are now. This was confirmed by Daniel Suarez, the No:99 Camaro ZL1 driver, in his recent interview.

Daniel Suarez acknowledged that he thinks without the Next-Gen car Trackhouse Racing wouldn’t have been as competitive as they are right now just like the situation with 23X1 Racing, the Michael Jordon-Denny Hamlin-owned team, who entered the grid at the same time as Trackhouse. He pointed out that just like his boss Justin Mark mentioned so many times the Next-Gen car has brought in so many new opportunities for the latest teams to enter the cup now and in the near future.

I think it’s important that without the Next-Gen car, we wouldn’t be talking about Trackhouse Racing, probably most likely we wouldn’t be talking about 23XI. The Next-Gen car has brought a lot of opportunities to current new teams. I’m sure it’s going to continue to do that in the near future. I think that has been an extremely, extremely important factor. Justin Marks has mentioned this to me several times,” Daniel Suarez said.

Daniel Suarez went on to say that from the first time he and the team owners at together discussing the team they pointed out that the project revolves around Next-Gen cars. He added that the Next-Gen car was an incredible idea by NASCAR to implement  and the team was able to pull everything together and make things happen.

From the first time we sat together to talk about partnering together, he said this project is around the Next-Gen car. I feel like that’s an incredible idea that NASCAR and everyone were able to put together to make it happen,” Daniel Suarez added.

Daniel Suarez went on to say that he has fast cars and efficient pit stop with all the crew working together he went on to say that they are working hard to get themselves to a position which they know they can be, which will enable them to be the best in the playoffs, by getting better in every week in and week out.

We have fast cars, and great pitstops and everyone is working together. We are nowhere close to where we know we can be so we have to keep working and getting better each week. We want to be at our best when the playoffs start,” says Daniel Suarez.
