The last two seasons also witnessed the Dover Cup race being re-scheduled to Monday.

NASCAR has announced that the Würth 400, the 11th Cup race of the 2023 season, is postponed due to the heavy rain on Sunday. Dover Motor Speedway will host the race at 12 pm ET Monday, according to the new schedule. The Cup qualifiers were dropped on Saturday due to the heavy rain, and the grid position was allocated according to metric points.
This is not the first time the Dover event has been postponed, and the last two seasons witnessed the race being rescheduled to Monday over heavy rain. The race took place on the reserve day in 2019 as well. 105 Cup race event has been organized at the tarck, and 5 of them were rained out and were postponed.
Home track hero Martin Truex Jr. with the postponement, has gained a unique advantage. He has three Cup wins at the track, making him the joint-most winner alongside Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick, and two of them came on Mondays. Last yaer, he didn’t have the luck as HMS Chase Elliott scored the win, it was the Chevy driver’s first win of 2022. Elliott can repeat the feat on Monday and end his disadvantage due to mixing six races due to injury.
Elliott, after hearing the postponement decision, pointed out that the rain would prompt some changes in the track that could influence the teams’ decision-making for the Noon race. He said, “It’s been a year since we’ve been here, and obviously a lot can happen in that amount of time. We’ll get on track and kind of see where we stack up and go from there,”.

Martin Truex Jr. can give home fans their best times if he can follow his brother’s footsteps
Saturday was one of the greatest times this year for the Truex family. The 2017 Cup champion’s younger brother Ryan Truex produced his best-ever run in NASCAR and won the Xfinity event. He drove the No:19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Supra. It was the first-ever NASCAR win for Ryan, who in his whole career till now has been struggling to establish himself.
Ryan Truex said after the win, “This is for everyone that doubted me. I belong here. I just proved that. Most people didn’t believe in me, and I still did. Just so thankful to be here. Just amazing. I was just waiting for something to happen. I was praying, please God, let me get to the end of this.”
While his accomplished brother, though, has nothing to prove. Yet the winless run of the 2022 season and not scoring point paying race win this season also makes some fans question his legacy. He has the perfect opportunity to shut those doubters and once again prove, though it is not necessary, he is among the best of the 21st century.
