“You guys saw it, right? It’s just hard racing, I guess,” Austin Dillon on his run-in with Brad Keselowski at New Hampshire

Bard Keselowski and Austin Dillon
Austin Dillon has been having bad, disappointing, and unfortunate days in his efforts to get the No:3 Richard Childress Racing Chevy Camaro ZL1 to the victor lane through putting the season. The 31 years old once again failed to do that this time at New Hampshire Motor Speedway as he couldn’t get his No:3 car into the Top 20 and his on-track incident with Brad Keselowski made the day much worse for him.
The conflict among the duo started to manifest in the caution that came out following Kyle Busch’s spin on lap 163. Austin Dillon approached Keselowski on the backstretch and swerved at the driver of the RFK Racing No. 6 car. A frustrated Keselowski retaliated by striking Dillon’s RCR Chevrolet on the right side and then the back bumper landing him in the Turn 3 grass in an effort that seems to be aimed at crashing him.
Find out what Austin Dillon had to say about the incident

Austin Dillon mocked the incident to be something that happened during hard racing when he was asked about it in the post-race interview and pointed out to the instances in the past where both of them came at each other which didn’t end in a nice way. He pointed out that he doesn’t like how certain drivers race him and it wasn’t the right way to race by the No:6 car under caution. Dillon added that he now aims at getting over the bad day he had and going for the playoff spots.
“You guys saw it, right? It’s just hard racing, I guess. We’ve gone at it a couple of times the last two years; one time, I hit really hard. I just don’t like the way certain people race me, and it’s probably not the right way to do it under caution. But thanks for giving us an interview for the Bass Pro Shops Chevy. We weren’t very good today, and we’ll go and fight at the next race. We’ve got to get this No. 3 car in the playoffs,” Austin Dillon said.
Austin Dillon later spoke about his whole race say where he pointed out that they fought all day long as the fight was hardened by the fact that he had to start the race all the way in the back which is prone to getting ibn the masses. He added that it was a wild day for him pointing to the on-track field, the pit road spin, and the backward pit stop.
“We fought hard all day and never gave up, but I can’t say that it wasn’t challenging. We started really far back in the field in our Bass Pro Shops / TRACKER Off Road Chevrolet, and it can be hard to start that far back because you’re prone to end up in messes. It was a wild day. We had a little brush up with another car on the track and it knocked the tow out of our Chevy, then we got spun on pit road and the guys had to do a backward pit stop,” Austin Dillon added.
Austin Dillon went on to say that his crew chief Justin Alexander and the team never gave up working on his car to make it better and had an amazing run after 50 laps where the car came to life but it ended shortly after a green flag pit stop for a flat tire. He added that he will take the result and head to Pocono aiming to get the playoff spot.
“Still, Justin Alexander and the team never gave up on working on adjustments to make the car better, and with about 50 laps to go our Chevy really came to life. It was so fast, but then we had to pit under green with less than 30 laps to go for a flat tire. We’ll take this finish and head to Pocono to try and win and clinch a spot in the NASCAR Playoffs,” Austin Dillon explained.
