Kevin Harvick who sports the No.4 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing as a full-time NASCAR Cup Series contender was extremely elated with his performance at this year’s iconic Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway after finishing 3rd in what happened to be the longest 600 miles race in the history of the sport.
He has had a quite impressive season so far with three top 5s and seven top 10s in this season so far and his time at the track just keeps getting better as he earned with fifth consecutive top 10 at this particular track among his career-best 21 top 10s at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Despite not having a victory yet, he just might be able to grab a playoff spot with his results posted so far.
NASCAR also initiated the NASCAR Salutes on account of the Memorial Day Weekend which comes at the end of May where drivers carry the names of fallen Military Personnel names honoring them for their sacrifices and Kevin Harvick donned Marine Lance Corporal Philip Gordon West who sustained severe injuries and gave his life in a hospital receiving treatment.

Kevin Harvick addressed that his race was pretty intense given the crashes and spins out there on the track and was glad that his Ford Mustang did well as the crew worked well getting him a good finish in the end but he calls it the wildest race so far adding that he had a feeling this race would be tough given the outings at the other 1.5miles tracks.
“Our race was atrocious. We went to the back eight times, but we wound up in a good position there at the end and wound up with a good finish, but it was ugly. Everybody’s night was ugly, for the most part. We just kept battling. I’ve been to this race a lot and I knew that the way the mile and a half races had gone this particular year that it was gonna be tough,” said Kevin Harvick.
He further added by saying that there hasn’t been any sort of problems with the tires given the length of the race and he concluded by saying that the car rather posed many problems as it spun a lot and everyone struggled to keep the spin in control and that part of the race was entertaining for him and was glad that he finished good.
“There weren’t as many tire issues as I thought there were going to be, but it wound up just being spinouts because the cars would just become an incredibly big handful as you’d get toward the end of the run. You just had to hang on to it, and it was definitely interesting, to say the least. You just kind of kept grinding away,” concluded Kevin Harvick.
With no victories, this season and an 11th place on the points table, Kevin Harvick has to perform exceptionally in his races yet to come to acquire a playoff spot.
