Trackhouse Racing ended the uncertainty over Daniel Suarez’s career last week, announcing his will exit the team at the end of the 2025 season. Young JR Motorsports Xfinity driver Conor Zilisch is expected to take over the No:99 crew. This shift will mark the end of a journey that started in 2021 and created a whole new legacy for the team as well as the driver.

Trackhouse came into the picture, when Daniel Suarez was in a tough spot after messing up his Cup career that started strong following his Xfinity win. He won two races with the team, making history and is one of the fan favorite of the sport. The Chevy driver shared this journey with his teammate Ross Chastain, who joined the team in 2022.

Now Chastain has addressed the exit announcement from his teammate and shared his feelings about the Mexican American. He highlighted how Suarez was the best teammate he ever had and the most like-minded person he has seen in the garage. The grew together into championship contenders together at Trackhouse.

It’s been incredible, it’s been four years together. My entire time in the track house, I really actually moved into the Concord building. It was him and I. And he’s the most like-minded person outside of the car. The best teammate that I’ve ever had. We were in the same car. I feel like part of my career is when we had something in the groove and Justin hired us.

Ross Chastain said via Frontstretch.

Later talking about their memories together, Chastain highlighted how their racing careers has been pretty similar before making it into the Chevy team as their careers before the team was long but unsuccessful. They went through similar timelines and the last four years they have produced some of the big highlights of the sport.

Just like we both have had long, I’d say long-ish careers, but with limited success. And then he’s obviously got an Xfinity Series championship. It’s incredible. But our path to get to track house was, we’re both relatively similar timelines, I’d say.

Ross Chastain added.

Ross Chastain shared the most cherished moment he had with Daniel Suarez

In the same conversation, when asked about the best moment he has shared with No:99 Chevy driver, Chastain admitted that it was the duo winning races in 2022. Both of them secured their maiden win that year with the former winning at COTA and the latter at Sonoma. They clebrtaed their heart out after that wins.

Both of us winning.  Seeing his excitement for me at COTA and then me when he won at Sonoma. I parked the car where I had to and then I ran up to the start-finish line where he was celebrating. Yeah, just seeing that come full circle for both of us.

Ross Chastain said.

The feeling of joy and hard work getting rewarded after many years, made those moments special for them. The star driver hasn’t yet gotten over the feeling of their win and it would be interesting to see if they can end their final year together with both of them in the victory lane. Chastain has already won a race, just like SVG did ta Mexico, now it’s Suarez’s time to deliver.
