Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain is one of the most decisive racers in the NASCAR garage. Despite being one of the strong racers of the sport, he is infamous for making over aggressive moves. This results in the No:1 Chevy drivers having extended beefs with his rivals, most often the veterans of the sport.

The latest to add to the list of Ross Chastain’s enemies is the defending champion, Joey Logano. The three-time Cup winners’ race was ruined after he was spun late in the race by Chase Briscoe due to a block by the No:1 Chevy. Logano didn’t hesitate call out the Chevy driver, branding him a jack on team radio as well as on his post-race interview. Now the Trackhouse driver has responded to the claims.

In his recent interview with Kelly Crandall, Chastain pointed out that he was confused about Joey Logano’s comments and was surprised seeing the veteran doubling down on the claims after having enough time to cool off after the incident. He also defended his black that caused the incident, claiming the No:19 Toyota wasn’t trying get to him.

I am confused by what he’s said. I haven’t heard since he got out of the car and had time to cool down and look at it. Don’t believe that [Briscoe] was trying to get to me. I don’t think that.

Ross Chastain told Kelly Crandall of RACER.

He then highlighted that how there was enough gap for driver to make a move at the situation and how he has got caught up in similar situation in the past. Chastain believes the spin happened because the No:22 Ford hit his Chevy harder than Logano wanted it to.

When I got down in front of the 22 [Logano] the first time, there was a gap. Other guys had done that to me. That’s a very common move to get down in line. He took that opportunity to, I think, he hit me harder than he needed to.

He’s mad from COTA. He says that I pushed a car into him late in the race. When I first heard about it, I honestly didn’t understand what they were saying he said. … I just couldn’t believe what they were saying and what they were telling me he said.

Ross Chastain said.

The Trackhouse driver pointed out that if Joey Logano’s mind was a bit clear, he would have made better assessment of the situation. He then highlighted how much weight Logano’s words carries as he is a three times champion and asserted that he don’t appreciate such unwarranted words from a legend o the sport.

I would hope that he looked at it and had a little clear mind. He’s a three-time champ. He can say what he wants, but those words have a lot of weight and to just get out and spew that, call me those names is not appreciated. Not warranted I don’t think.

Ross Chastain added.

The words of Chastain show he is hurt by what Joey Logano said about him and how the comments were culmination of the built-in frustration over their past run-ins. It will be interesting to see how the new beef among the Ford and Chevy drivers is going to playout from next race weekend.
