The NASCAR Cup Series race on Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway has never failed to excite the fans and this weekend was no different. NASCAR problem child Carson Hocevar gave the fans the entertainment they were looking for, when he crashed Ryan Blaney, the 2023 Cup champion, in the third stage of the race.
The drama didn’t stop there, as after the race Blaney went to confront the Chevy driver and they immediately started throwing punches at each other. Talking about it later, the No:12 Ford Mustang driver asserted that he feels good about the altercation and had no regret about. Ironically the No:77 driver also made similar comments.
Bianchi: Any comment on the fight, altercation?
RB: Nah, not really.
Binachi: Feel good to go after him?
RB: Yeah. (small chuckle)

It seems the Team Penske driver had planned the altercation, as he really wanted to confront Carson Hocevar for ruining his championship momentum. Ryan Blaney said after getting wrecked and waiting in the sidelines for the race to end, that it was fully the Spire driver’s mistake that led to the crash and he would face consequences for the mistake.
I tried to protect the bottom, he crossed, and never lifted and got crashed. So, yeah, that’s what I thought happened, that’s what it looked like happened… Oh, I don’t ***** know. I got crashed. Each person is going to say they did nothing wrong.

Ryan Blaney and Carson Hocevar did exactly what Ric Flair wanted
The duo seems to have embodied the comments made from WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, who was at the track earlier. He called the driver fight each other if they wanted to and show their real emotions to the rest of the fans.

If they’re mad, they want to kick somebody’s ass, go kick it. Just make sure they take their helmet off. They need to fight with your fight with their helmets on. Just get the helmet off and then smack them. I want to see the real emotion and I think that’s cool.
Ric Flair said before the race.
The comments from the entertainment industry legend are on point and asserted that it’s idiotic to think that there is no enmity among the drivers when they are getting into each other more often. At the end of the day the sport is know for being too competitive.
If you’re trying to tell me they don’t get mad at each other out there, bumping each other around, I would say you’re incorrect. I’m sure that they’re not all best friends. This sport is too competitive and insensitive.
Ric Flair added.
The drama is going to top the NASCAR media headlines for the many days to come and it would be interesting to see how everything is going playout for the duo. Is NASCAR going to fine or penalize both or one of them for the whole drama.
