The NASCAR garage is at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City for the maiden Next-Gen Cup Series race at the iconic road course track. The racer with the most limelight going into the weekend is Daniel Suarez, the most successful Mexican NASCAR racer ever, driving for Trackhosue Racing. This has inspired 2023 Ryan Blaney to make some rules for himself.
The Team Penske driver on his interview with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio revealed that he is determined to not wreck Daniel Suarez or get involved in on track tussles with him at any cost. There is only one reason for this rule, he doesn’t want to get on the bad side of the passionate Mexican fans as he would never get their forgiveness.
Do not by any circumstances, wreck Daniels Suarez this weekend. That is the only rule that I have because I would get just booed out of the stadium. You couldn’t get to the bus fast enough. Do not wreck the hometown guy, the national driver.
Ryan Blaney said via SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

He then jokingly sent a message to the Trackhouse No: 99 Chevy driver, telling him that he will let him pass easily when get in any duels on the track and promised him that there won’t be any drive bombing from his side. If any driver doesn’t want to end up as a national enemy should follow the Suarez rule, set by Blaney.
So, Daniel, I’m gonna be an easy pass if you’re around me if you’re listening and you don’t have to worry about me dive bombing you and taking a chance because I don’t want that heat on me of being hated by a whole country if I spin you out.
Ryan Blaney added.
Daniel Suarez will be selfish in Mexico
Coming into his home country as the ambassador of the sport, there is a lot of pressure on Daniel Suarez’s shoulders to produce a strong run. He has been winless in the 2025 season so far, and hasn’t been on his best form, amidst rumors of sacking surrounding him.

The Chevy driver has always been strong on road courses and his home race being one gives him a major advantage. Mexico and Pocono race a week after will be his best shot at winning. Henec he is more determined than anyone at the moment.
The veteran asserted that starting from Friday he will be playing the selfish game to be the best version of himself in the Chevy car. He knowns he can win the race as long as they can execute with perfection on the race day.
Once we get to Friday, it’s time to be selfish because I want to be the best version of myself, and I know we can win the race. But for that, I have to execute everything right, and I have to be on my game.
Daniel Suarez added.
The race won’t be easy for him as his teammate Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen will also be strong contenders for the race. The veteran duo of AJ Allmendinger, Michael McDowell and the youngster like Tyler Reddick and William Byron will also be big challengers to overcome.
