The 2024 NASCAR Cup season would have been much different if Joe Gibbs Racing still had Kyle Busch driving for them.

After 15 years of service that yielded him two championship and around 200 wins in all three national series, Kyle Busch left Toyota giants Joe Gibbs Racing in 2023. He joined RCR to drive the iconic No:8 car and after a strong start with three race wins, he has hit a bad streak that extended to the 2024 season.
Both Kyle Busch as well as Toyota is missing the presence of the veteran, with JGR is in the perfect spot to win the championship this season. Recently TRD president David Wilson talked with MBC about the team and acknowledges the major impact Kyle Busch’s exit from the team has had on his teams.

He admitted that losing Kyle Busch was a massive blow for the team that had no upsides. It was a big hit for them as losing him cost them a strong presence in the play-offs, and sees it as a crushing blow for their organization. They didn’t just lose Busch, but his Truck Series team KBM, which was undoubtedly a huge loss as well.
Obviously, for Toyota, losing Kyle in a run through a championship is a massive setback, Kyle Busch is money in the playoffs… By losing him, we take a big hit. There’s zero upside. There’s zero upside. It’s just a crushing blow to our organization.David Wilson said via NBC Sports.
Toyota trashes conspiracy theories over Kyle Busch’s exit
The top Toyota racing executive also discussed some conspiracy theories that suggested Kyle Busch was forced out of the team. He was really disappointed with such ignorant claims and didn’t hold back his frustration.

I'll say for those fans who are actually ignorant enough to suggest that this is some sort of a mastermind conspiracy to rid ourselves of Kyle Busch early, I would simply say go back to trying to find the edge of the flat earth. It's absurd.David Wilson said.
If Kyle Busch was with JGR in 2024, they would have scored more wins this season and with Denny Hamlin, the No:18 would have been a strong championship favorite. It would be interesting to see how the current season would play out for both teams as the year progresses.
