Amar’e Stoudemire was born in Lake Wales in Florida on November 16th, 1982. He was born to his mother Carrie Stoudemire and father Hazell Stoudemire. The former Phoenix Suns star has been raised a Baptist since his childhood but has maintained a very close relationship with his Jewish faith that he inherited from his mother who is associated with Black Hebrew Israelites.

As of 2022, Amar’e Stoudemire has a net worth of $70 million that he has earned throughout his career as an NBA player and through his other ventures. During his stint in the NBA, Stoudemire attained a top annual salary of $23.4 million. Amar’e made a total of $167 million in pay throughout the course of his career.

Stoudemire established his own apparel brand in 2011, which debuted at Macy’s in the latter part of that year. Rappers from Phoenix to Atlanta have been signed by his own record company, Hypocalypto. Stoudemire and Scholastic Press agreed to a contract in August 2011 under which Stoudemire would pen a STAT series of middle-grade chapter books. 

Stoudemire also acquired a significant partner in Hapoel Jerusalem B.C. in the summer of 2013. Stoudemire Cellars, an Israeli wine label that is kosher, was introduced in February 2018 by Stoudemire. Three wines under the label were first released, and they were all made in the Kfar Tikvah-based Tulip Winery.

The Each One, Teach One foundation was started by Stoudemire in 2003. Stoudemire also provided financial support for his own AAU squad, Team STAT. For his work with the Each 1, Teach 1 Foundation, which supports the construction of water wells in underdeveloped towns in Sierra Leone, Stoudemire was given the NBA’s Community Assist Award in November 2008.

After spending 14 years in the NBA, Amar’e closed his NBA career in 2016. He won the Rookie of the Year title in 2002. During his over a decade career in the league, he was named in All-NBA Team five times. He had a total of 6 All-Star appearances and was named as the starter in the 2007 NBA All-Star game.

Stoudemire played for different NBA teams including the Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, and Miami Heat throughout his NBA career. Amar’e averaged 18.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game during his NBA career

Stoudemire previously bought a 185-acre farm in New York in 2014 situated in Hyde Park the farm has a 2,000-square-foot log cabin. The farm was bought for weekend and holiday family vacations.

In 2014, Stoudemire purchased a farm in Hyde Park, New York. He also owned an apartment in Greenwich Village atop where he got married to Alexis Welch. The former Phoenix Suns star has property in Florida and New York which cost $22 million combined. Moreover, Amar’e currently lives in his Miami Florida property with his mother, which is sometimes visited by his children.

In a 2010 interview, the former Rookie of the Year said, “I have been aware since my youth that I am a Hebrew through my mother, and that is something that has played a subtle but important role in my development.

During the 2013 Maccabiah Games, he became the assistant coach of the Canadian Team and met with Israeli President Shimon Peres. In April of the year 2018, he started to convert to Judaism, and by January 2019, he was granted residency in Israel, and by January 2019, he was granted Israeli citizenship. The same year Stoudemire adopted a new name Yahoshafat Ben Avraham. On August 26th in 2020, he formally converted to Judaism with a Rabbinical court. 

In 2012, Stoudemire lost his older brother to a car accident. He dated his wife Alexis Welch in 2002 and got engaged in May 2012. Later the couple got married on December 12, 2012. The couple has four children Assata Stoudemire, Aré Stoudemire, Amar’e Stoudemire, and Alijah Carsares Stoudemire.
