Paul Pierce is a Boston Celtics legend and one of the best wing players in the league’s history. He also goes by the name of “The Truth,” and thanks to Shaquille O’Neal for it. The Boston Celtics and their fans were some regular names in the headlines for not so many good reasons. Because the franchise had some of the toughest guys ever and they knew how to do their job. Even Paul Pierce is one of them as even he has his fair share of many controversial and savage stories.
Wilson Chandler, a former New York Knick revealed one of Paul Pierce’s ‘Gangsta’ moments on the hardwood. It happened during a fiery and closely contested battle between the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics at TD Garden. On the receiving end was Amar’e Stoudemire who got brutally destroyed by Paul Pierce’s savage response to his trash-talking.
Paul Pierce responding to Amar’e Stoudemire brought Kobe Bryant and LeBron James into the exchange and shocked Wilson Chandler who now is revealing it to the world. Pierce was a real and pure competitor against Kobe and LeBron, but even he knew about the potential and caliber of the other two greats. And, during his moment with Stoudemire, he exactly revealed that by equalling himself with them.

Chandler Wilson revealing the ‘most subtle, gangsta sh*t’ he has ever seen quoted: “When I was in New York and we had Amar’e, we was playing Boston in Boston. It was a close game. We was down like four with a couple minutes left or whatever. Somebody fouled Paul Pierce. So he at the line, he go through his routine he shoot the free throw made it… So he gets the ball on the second free throw…“
Further, Chandler Wilson mentioned how during Paul Pierce’s routine before the second free throw, Amar’e Stoudemire decided to talk some ‘regular sh*t’. And, while doing so he said: “Oh, [Paul Pierce] gon’ give us one of these.” The forward didn’t really disrespected or trash-talked The Truth. But it was enough for the 2008 FMVP to clap back at him in the most savage way possible.
Chandler Wilson revealing the whole exchange has said: “He said it and Paul Pierce stopped mid-routine. And he just looked back over both shoulders… I’m like, ‘What the f*ck are you doing?’ He looked back at Amar’e like, ‘Who you talking to? Me? You gotta be talking to Ray or somebody. Because I done been in too many big games for me to miss these free throws right now. Matter of fact, I don’t even know why I’m arguing with you. I only argue with Kobes and LeBrons.’ Went back to his routine. Shot it. Made it. I was like, ‘What?’ And just ran back. I was like, ‘That’s the most subtle, gangsta sh*t ever.’”
Paul Pierce was really a real one back in the days. He wasn’t afraid of anyone and always pushed through his limits to get the job done. His resume isn’t that heavy but he was a solid player out there. Let’s not forget he is a Hall of Famer and a member of NBA 75 as fans today aren’t giving him the correct recognition and respect he deserves.
