Bulls News: Alex Caruso to miss 6-8 weeks, suffers Fractured wrist owing to Grayson Allen’s foul play

Grayson Allen fouls Alex Caruso

Bad news for Chicago Bulls fans and the organization as Alex Caruso will undergo wrist surgery. This comes after a seemingly foul play by Grayson Allen in the Friday night game. Caruso, although, got up and returned to the game after the injury, it was evident that something was wrong. The Bulls’ announcement now makes it clear that Caruso fractured his right wrist and will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks.

Caruso already missed a month of action due to the minor injury and then immediately after that was placed in the Covid protocols. The Bulls have already lost Lonzo Ball and Zach Lavine for the foreseeable future to the injuries. They are now the responsibility of DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic, who no doubt will not have it easy.

It was in the game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday that the incident occurred. During a play, The Bulls were on a fast break when Ayo Dosumnu found himself being guarded by Pat Connaughton. He passed the ball to the cutting Caruso who went to attack the rim but was met by Grayson Allen at the top. Allen tried to block the shot when the arms of both men got entangled. What looked then was that Allen after entangling his arm with that of Caruso’s and pushed so hard that Caruso fell hard, and landed roughly on his left shoulder.

Alex Caruso’s agent Greg Lawrence, was very upset with this play too. He said (via CBS) – “I expect the league will take into consideration not only what was a dangerous, unnecessary, and dirty play on Alex Caruso that caused this significant injury, but also the offending players’ own history, this was a cheap shot on an airborne, defenseless player that resulted in a broken bone that will need to be surgically repaired and will cause Alex to miss at least two months of the season. I am hopeful the league levels a punishment that will send a clear message that there is no place in the NBA for what happened to Alex and the Bulls.”
