Phoenix Suns coach Monty Williams initially had planned to bench Chris Paul due to a shoulder injury which the latter suffered in Game 1 against LA Lakers, reducing him to a fraction of himself. However, it comes to be known that veteran Chris Paul changed his coach’s mind in an emotional pre game speech, which allowed him to be a part of the starting five.
What was even more impressive that Chris Paul look the healthiest in Game 4 after suffering that injury and went onto score a decisive tally of 18 points and 9 assists, in 32 minutes of action on the court.

“There’s been a lot going on. I met with coach before the game and he told me he was gonna sit me tonight,” Paul said as per ESPN. “I told him, ‘Hell nah.’ Just give me a couple minutes and see what I can do.”
By the time Paul was finished orchestrating their superb second half, the Suns were headed in only one direction: back to Phoenix with a 2-2 series and greatly increased confidence in these playoff newcomers’ ability to knock off the defending champs.
He also assured his teammates that he will be of utter help and if he disappoints them, just let him know so that he could make his walk back to the bench without a word.
“I hadn’t touched a basketball or anything since the last game,” Paul added. “We didn’t have a lot of guys that missed a lot of games this season, so we’re used to playing a certain way.

Jae Crowder and Devin Booker scored 17 points each, while Deandre Ayrton made his presence felt again after knocking a double-double with 14 points and 17 rebounds.
With AD not on the floor for Lakers, Chris Paul led Suns had no problem in scoring from anywhere in the paint.
