This season, the Golden State Warriors are back at the top after two miserable seasons caused by injuries. The team has been playing at an elite level even without their entire core which leaves us wondering about how they will be after Klay Thompson’s return to the squad.

While the entire world awaits to watch the Warriors dominate once again and it is obvious that many within the league are not too ecstatic about it, especially Denver Nuggets’ Austin Rivers. The 6 ft 3 guard had some words to say about the Warriors recapturing their elite status.

The Nuggets player had a lot of emotion to spill on being asked about the Warriors’ retaining their top spot. He took to Instagram to rant about how much he hated the team and one of the biggest reasons might be because the Warriors always came out on top in the playoffs while he played for the Clippers from 2014-18 and then in the Western Conference finals while he was on the Houston Rockets. Seems fair enough, right?

“Golden State Warriors looks very solid right now,… I hate to see it. I don’t like it one bit. I’m of that team,” said Rivers. He has every right to be upset about the situation surrounding the Warriors after battling it out for years on the court trying to win a title. Rivers had also mentioned that the Dubs’ have a talented young set of players mentored by “good vets”, good is quite an understatement but he is a rival after all. (via NBCsports)

Austin Rivers calls Dubs fans out on hypocrisy

Andre Wiggins and Stephen curry

As you may have noticed, after trading for Andrew Wiggins the Warriors received a lot of criticism from fans after Wiggins failed to put up the required numbers. Rivers said, ”A lot of you Warriors fans was off Wiggins when he first signed with Warriors, keep it 100. Last year you all were talking about trade him, this and that now everybody is talking all highly. Come on now.”

Strong words from Rivers towards a strong-headed Warriors fan base. Needless to say, opinions vary and each person is entitled to their own. The Warriors are the projected title contenders out of the Western Conference and they are set to face the Denver Nuggets on the 28th and 30th of this month to close out the year.
