Stephen Curry gives young fans the ULTIMATE surprise with a impromptu shootaround in their backyards
Stephen Curry is known for his excellent basketball knowledge and ability to play like a winner on the court. His shooting skills are like no other and nobody compares to his potential from deep. Besides all the hype behind his name in the world of basketball, Curry is a regarded as a very humble and down to earth human being. There have been several moments that fans have cherished with the baller.
Josh Sens, journalist and writer for GOLF wrote a story on what specific moment that changed the lives of a couple of young fans. The incident happened when Stephen Curry showed up at the Lake Merced Golf Club. Sens said, “on what was then the 11th hole, a par-4 that runs along the edge of a residential neighborhood, Curry sees a couple of boys shooting hoops in a backyard. So he drops his clubs, heads over to the tall fence that separates the course from the homes, and asks the stunned kids if he can join them.”
As expected, word spread about Stephen Curry’s impromptu session with the children in a nearby house. The following day, several other children gather around in the same backyard that Curry had visited the previous day. The children were expectant of the Golden State Warriors point guard’s return but unfortunately, it never happened. Sens basically wanted to explain no matter how big of a personality Curry may be, he still did not hesitate to keep his fans happy.
Stephen Curry destined for greatness, but the Warriors crumble during the 2022-23 Season
Last year, Stephen Curry put up some of his greatest personal performances. The Warriors were coming off a rough two season dry spells without Klay Thompson and the loss of Kevin Durant. Experts began to criticize Curry for his ability to lead the Warriors to another finals victory, but the Chef cooked up a feast for the eyes of basketball enthusiasts during the playoffs.
Averaging 31.2 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists per game, Curry let the Warriors past the defensively explosive Boston Celtics team. The Celtics also had Marcus Smart of their team who was the DPOY and the primary defender against Curry. The former unanimous MVP also won his first ever Finals MVP award. On top of that, he added another title to his collection.
This season, it has been quite a struggle for the Warriors. They are currently at the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a record of 9 wins and 10 losses. Since the start of the regular season, the Dubs failed to secure a victory on the road until their recent run in with the Houston Rockets. Steph has been putting up 31.6 points per game along with 6.6 rebounds and 7.2 assists. His fellow compadres have been struggling on the other hand.
