“Chemistry issues” Former NBA Champion highlights just why the Golden State Warriors are miserably failing

Kendrick Perkins

After their championship run last season, the Golden State Warriors were in deep trouble. Former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins was quick to point out the chemistry issues that are lingering with the Warriors and hampering their overall play on the court. Despite a stellar performance from Stephen Curry, the Warriors lost to Phoenix Suns 119-130. The Warriors are 0-8 on the road this season, which is the worst record by a defending champion.

Former Boston Celtics player and NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins thinks it is the chemistry issue that the Golden State Warriors are struggling with. Pekins commented, “They [Warriors] don’t have chemistry, the chemistry is gone right now.” Perkins’s comments about the chemistry issue are right on point. As Warriors coach Steve Kerr also said, “Right now we are scattered, its a pick-up game.” Kendrick Perkins also pointed out that the brawl between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole has certainly hit the chemistry in the Warriors squad and the environment in the locker room.

According to Perkins, it is perhaps the fact that the Golden State Warriors are playing individual basketball that is the root cause of their failure this season. He said, “If you look at them across the board and watch how they are playing they’re playing a whole bunch of individual basketball, it’s not a team anymore.” Perkins also remarked, “these guys are playing with hidden agendas.” Stephen Curry scored season-high 50 points against the Phoenix Suns and yet the Warriors lost by 11 points.

Golden State Warriors have just lost 8th straight road game, and the young core is failing them

Warriors’ young core

In their championship run last season, the Golden State Warriors cased the most from their young core. Coming into this season, they had one of the deepest rosters in the league, if not the deepest. But going so far into the season, unfortunately, the young core is not contributing as much as they thought. Klay Thompson after returning from injury has been finding it hard to get back to his old self. Everything is going against the Warriors this season.

Jordan Poole after signing the max contract extension with the Warriors has been inconsistent with his performance, James Wiseman has been sent to G-League to improve and find his rhythm. Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody have been below average, throughout the season. The only player who showed up hungry yet again was the great Stephen Curry. The Warriors are under immense pressure to change the roster from the media, but it is highly unlikely that they make major changes.
