“He has played 17 years and is still going strong yet I was reaching for the doors”: Scottie Pippen urges fans to respect LeBron James’ longevity

Scottie Pippen on LeBron James
Scottie Pippen is undoubtedly one of the most underrated players in the NBA, whose presence was often taken for granted against the likes of Michael Jordan. On the same note, the Hall of Famer rightly urges hoop fans to respect the longevity and years of dominance of Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James, who has entered his 19th season in the league and is still is looking determined to spend years in the NBA.
However, LeBron James’ start to the NBA 2021-22 Season has been a horrific one. Be it with his injury concerns or the performance of his Lakers’ or his most recent ejection after elbowing Isaiah Stewart or his couple of game-deciding shots against the Sacramento Kings. Yet, all those negatives haven’t led Scottie Pippen to talk less-highly of the 36-years-old veteran.
Scottie Pippen on LeBron James

The former Chicago Bulls’ star was asked about whether LeBron James is the best player in the league, and he had a lot to say. He talked about LeBron’s longevity, his skills, and how he never stays away from voicing his opinion.
Scottie Pippen said, “What LeBron has been able to do throughout this has just been spectacular. His voice more so than his play, he’s been able to stand tall and utilize that stage of a springboard for social justice in a lot of ways so that’s been, you know, huge. The fact that you’re talking about a man that’s 17 years in the league, I was reaching for the door at 17, I was walking out the door at 17.”
This is not the first time Scottie has praised LeBron. The Hall of Famer has come in support of James countless times in the past.

Having said that, it is clear to determine that Scottie Pippen has immense respect for LeBron James even when he seems to be at his most vulnerable. But even so, the questions still remain, when will the Lakers’ marquee be able to lead his star-studded squad in the NBA 2021-22 Season? And for how long will LeBron and Co. Will be deprived of consecutive wins?
