LeBron James is in his 19th year playing in NBA and is undoubtedly one of the greatest players when it comes to Basketball. The 17 time NBA all star 4 times MVP and NBA champion and has a great experience of about 18 years.
This season he is carrying Los Angels Lakers, and has added a list of people who will target him for his team’s bad performance. Skip Bayless considers LeBron James to be in the race of becoming MVP
Bayless in the talk show considered the fact that LeBron can actually win his 5th MVP title this year because of the narrative and the fact that he is all by himself carrying Lakers to win games will definitely make him a candidate for winning the MVP title.
“I gotta tell you from my heart, I think he’s got a good shot at winning MVP. Because of narrative. I think the Russell WestBRICK narrative will work to his advantage even though it was LeBron’s fault that he’s here. In the larger picture, people are gonna say ‘look what he’s overcoming. He’s overcoming the guy who’s running away with the turnover lead in the NBA.”– Bayless during the talk show.

Bayless does make some valid points for defending LeBron
Bayless did indeed made some valid points in the statement as why King will be crowned with the title of MVP this season due to the narrative that he has been overcoming a team which is not at all performing and bearing the Russell Westbrook angle where he is looking at his individual record rather than playing for the team.
Statistically also LeBron James even though he is 37 years old is dominating in games. He is currently having an average of 28.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game and it won’t be wrong to say that he is currently having his best season ever since he joined LA Lakers.

The problem is Lakers performance as a team, which has been mediocre at its best. With a 20-19 record overall, they have played far below expectations so far even though they have a star-studded roster. Only LeBron could be seen performing for the team so far in terms of getting wins for the team.
