The Phoenix Suns acquired Kevin Durant in a blockbuster trade at the trade deadline and dealt away defensive wing Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson to the Brooklyn Nets. When the Suns acquired the former MVP in February, Durant was still recovering from a knee injury. He donned the Suns’ threads for three games in March, averaging 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists. The Suns were undefeated in that span.

However, Durant sprained his left ankle during a pregame warm-up session against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Through 42 games this season, Durant is averaging 29.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists while shooting 56.6 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from beyond the arc.

Durant sprained his left ankle on March 8, in a pregame warm-up session. The 6’11 forward is expected to be reevaluated on March 30 and has been sidelined till then. Landry Shamet (foot) will also be out for tonight’s game. The Bucks on the other hand will be without Joe Ingles, who’s been ruled out due to a knee injury.

This is the second encounter between the 2 teams this season. The Bucks defeated Phoenix in their first meeting on February 26, 104-101. The Suns are 22-11 at home, while the Bucks hold a respectable 21-13 record on the road.

Durant is a 6’11 forward with guard-like handles and movement. The 4 time-scoring champion plays as a combo forward, having started at both the Small Forward and Power Forward positions. Small forwards are usually the most versatile players on a team and are expected to make cuts, drive in and lead fastbreaks.

Power Forwards are usually bigger and stronger compared to small forwards and primarily space the floor as Stretch Bigs, provide post offense and grab rebounds. Notable Small Forwards include LeBron James, Larry Bird, Kawhi Leonard etc. Notable power forwards include Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki, Giannis Antetokounmpo etc.

Kevin Durant fantasy impact

Durant went down in pregame warmups on Wednesday night while casually attempting a layup on what appeared to be a slippery floor. The initial injury did not look good at all, and Durant’s left foot could be seen contorting at a nearly 90-degree angle under his leg. It sounds like the big man’s return to action will depend on his recovery and rehab status following this initial two-week timeframe. Devin Booker will continue to see his typical massive usage for as long as Durant remains sidelined.
