We are approaching the end of the regular NBA season and the conferences are as competitive as they’ve ever been. The Western Conference in particular is seeing teams overpowering each other by the barest of margins. The Dallas Mavericks currently sit at the 8h seed with a record similar to the LA Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Mavericks have fallen off after a subpar 4-6 run in their last 10 games. Their backcourt of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving did not feature in majority of the aforementioned games.
Kyrie Irving signed with the Mavericks in February 2023 and has built a good rapport with his co stars. But his arrival hasn’t translated into many victories. Irving has suited up on 13 occasions for the Mavericks and has been averaging 28 points per game on 51 percent efficiency. He dropped 38 points on March 18 against the Los Angeles Lakers in a tight victory. In the following game, Irving scored 28 points in a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Is Kyrie Irving playing tonight vs the Hornets?
Kyrie Irving has been listed as questionable (right foot soreness) for tonight’s game against the Charlotte Hornets. Irving is expected to take part in the team’s pre game shootaround and his availability is expected to be a gametime decision. He suffered a minor foot injury against the Memphis Grizzlies and missed their previous game against the Golden State Warriors.
The Hornets are expected to be without multiple payers. Star Guard Lamelo Ball has been ruled out for the season thanks to an ankle injury while Terry Rozier, Kelly Oubre Jr and Dennis Smith Jr have been listed as questionable for tonight’s game. The Hornets have been eliminated from playoff contention.
