“It’s not about the triple-doubles no more!”- Kendrick Perkins expresses discontentment with Russell Westbrook

“It’s not about the triple-doubles no more!”- Kendrick Perkins expresses discontentment with Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook turned the ball 49 times in his first 10 games. This is the league’s worst-ever record. Russell Westbrook’s trade to the LA Lakers was one of the most hyped trades this season. The fans were excited to witness the ‘BIG 3”- LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook. First, their debut together on the court got delayed due to injuries and when they finally made it to the court then they disappointed the fans with their dreadful plays.

The Lakers were exuberant when the season started but that exuberance seems to have vanished into the thin air with every match. Their incongruous offensive and distorted defense topped with turnovers have made it more exhausting for the Lakers. The baggage of defeat is just too heavy to carry.

Just like so many fans and critics, Kendrick Perkins is also disappointed with how the LA Lakers have been inconsistently performing, especially Russell Westbrook

Kendrick Perkins has a bitter advicefor Russell Westbrook

LeBron James and Russell Westbrook – LA Lakers

Kendrick Perkins is a former NBA player turned Sports Analyst for ESPN. After Sunday’s altercation between LeBron James and Isaiah Stewart, the big man tweeted “Kill all that Malice at the Palace Part 2 talk. This is the game that brings them together and wakes up the monster. Carry on….”

This tweet was to indicate that this incident might bring the team a lot closer as they all stood up for each other. But standing up for your teammates is one thing and performing well is another. The Lakers excelled in the former but not the latter.

On Wednesday’s “First Take” Kendrick Perkins gave a piece of harsh advice to Russell Westbrook and the entire LA Lakers roster.  The big man said that Mr. Triple-Double needs to win more games and “It’s not about triple-doubles no more!”

The Lakers gathered one of the best rosters this season but the permittivity level is not even slightly touching their combined potential. It is really frustrating to watch such an incredible team being crushed by teams that weren’t even Title contenders.

Perkins continued and compared Russell with Chris Paul, and how Paul delivers whenever he is on the court, unlike Westbrook. He added, “Can you turn the damn corner and win basketball games? When you look at Russ, and you look at CP3 … CP3, he goes out there and he wins basketball games!”

Russell Westbrook is fast with the ball, and the Lakers will need the former MVP to get into his zone if they wish to have a shot at the title with their remaining games.
