Dwight Howard and Malik Monk
Be it the Premier League, NFL or NBA, Covid-19 seems to be taking charge yet again as multiple outbreaks are been reported day in-day out. The latest to add to this claim is Dwight Howard and Malik Monk joining Talen Horton Tucker in the NBA Health and Safety Protocol. All of these three players will miss the team’s game on Wednesday against the Dallas Mavericks as per the latest announcement on Tuesday.
Talking about both, Dwight Howards and Malik Monk, the former didn’t make the trip to Dallas with the team as per the Covid-19 regulations of the league. To those who are not aware, the rule clearly states that all vaccinated players have to quarantine for 10 days or provide two negative PCR tests in a 24-hour window before resuming basketball activities.

Unlike Howard, Monk made the trip to Dallas with the entire tam and has been isolated accordingly. Moreover, THT was placed in the NBA Health and Safety Protocol earlier on Tuesday after reportedly testing positive for COVID-19. The Los Angeles Lakers players each underwent PCR and rapid tests before flying to Dallas. Evidently, Dwight Howard and Malik Monk’s tests came back positive.
Only a few weeks back LeBron James was placed in the Covid-19 protocols as well when a false positive report managed to outfox all officials. Eventually, LeBron showcased negative tests and missed not more than 1-game for the team.
Dwight Howard and Malik Monk are not the only players who have suffered the same fate. Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo and James Harden too have met same fortune and have entered the NBA Health and Safety Protocol on Tuesday. Furthermore, almost half of the Nets roster has entered the same, indicating towards an outbreak.
