Lakers News: The LeBron James silver lining amid Anthony Davis’ worrisome knee injury

LeBron James and Anthony Davis

The Los Angeles Lakers have been dealt with a major blow amid their early season struggles as Anthony Davis has endured a worrisome knee injury, which will rule him out for at least 4 weeks of action. With AD out, the only silver lining to the issue is that LeBron James will get more time on the court with more responsibility upon his shoulders to carry the team, which the 36-years-old has been doing efficiently well throughout the 2021-22 season without his sideman, AD.

Fans would be aware that, LeBron James and Anthony Davis have missed some games in the current season, but with AD out now, the King has somehow managed to bring his game up a notch for the purple and gold. Davis underwent MRI on Saturday upon his left knee as the Lakers suffered a blowout loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves yesterday. With the results of the scan indicating that he has been diagnosed with an MCL sprain, AD will miss at least four weeks of gametime.

Will LeBron James be able to lead the Lakers without Anthony Davis

The most recent outing for the Lakers wasn’t the best one for LeBron, and with multiple players like Malik Monk, Talen Horton Tucker and Austin Reaves out after entering NBA Health and Safety Protocol, the 4xNBA Finals MVP has to do all-solely in the coming games. Moreover, Russell Westbrook hasn’t been at his dominating best in the 2021-22 season and has shown signs of pressure raging up his leaves, this leaves LeBron to lead the purple and gold army for good around the Christmas Day games.

The good news for the Lakers is that LeBron appears to be at his best sans AD. The bad news is that James will be carrying a much heavier load without his superstar teammate in the mix.

Say what you want about The King’s endurance but there’s still no denying that an increased workload will eventually take its toll on LeBron, who will be turning 37 on December 30th.
