Lance Stephenson steals spotlight from Kyrie Irving during Nets vs Pacers showdown

Lance Stephenson is back in the NBA and is currently on a 10-day contract with the Indiana Pacers. Wednesday night in a home game against the Brooklyn Nets, Stephenson made the most out of the opportunity given to him by the Pacers.
Although the Indiana Pacers lost the game, Stephenson left his mark on everybody watching the game, scoring 30 points and dishing out five assists. The Pacers were leading for a majority part of the game, but they couldn’t sustain it and lost the game 121-129.

Stephenson signed a 10-day contract with the Indiana Pacers on January 1st, 2022. He has thus far played three games for the Pacers this season, scoring five and six points respectively against the Knicks and the Cavs. He was also on a 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks, for whom he played six games. The Hawks won two and lost four of those games.
Lance Stephenson tries to spoil Kyrie’s season debut
Lance Stephenson was not the only one making a comeback for their former team. Everybody’s eyes were on Kyrie Irving instead, who was returning to the Brooklyn Nets to play his first game of the season. Stephenson however outperformed Kyrie with his performance. Kyrie had a decent 22-point night on his return.

Stephenson came off the bench with 5 minutes 37 seconds into the 1st quarter, subbing in for Justin Holiday. He then exploded for 20 points in the first quarter alone. He also ended the first quarter with a 25-foot buzzer-beating three-pointer. This gave the Pacers a 37-32 lead at the end of the 1st.
Stephenson then played 26 more minutes in the game, scoring 10 more points. He ended the night with 30 points (three short of his career-high 33 points), five assists, and three rebounds. He also shot 63% from the field, going 12-19. He also made four 3-pointers off his eight attempts. This was also his 1st game this season where he made a three-pointer. He was 0-3 in his Atlanta Hawks stint and 0-5 in his ongoing Indiana Pacers stint before this game.
