The atmosphere was and still is just as crowd luring as ever and the number of fans keeps growing each and every passing minute. Each era of the league had its very own “GOATS” and villains. And every era had highlights that we all play on repeat.
Michael Jordan was one such phenom that entered the limelight in 1984 and took the world by storm. At that point in time, no player had ever been as good as Michael Jordon was with the ball. His playing style which included massive dunks, insane clutch shots, and his famous fade away was something different received by just one player. No player has ever been able to come near the GOAT’s level, or have they?
Michael Jordan tops the charts and becomes the greatest of all time
The Chicago Bulls legend is known as the greatest of all time for a million different reasons and at times the list seems endless. He is considered to be one of the greatest winners in the history of the NBA after bagging numerous accolades during his 15 season career (Jordan retired twice between 1984 and 2003).
He has been crowned the most valuable player of the league five times along with six title reigns which many fans believe would have been more if he had stayed instead of retiring twice in between. Jordan also managed to enter the top five all-time scorers list averaging a career of 30.1 points per game. Jordan holds the record for most scoring titles as he averaged 30+ points for five years at a stretch.
Besides this, he won the defensive player of the league award and also led the league in steals thrice during his career. He had eleven all-star appearances which included three all-star MVP awards. The list goes on but summing up Jordan’s career, it led to inspiring numerous players of the league right now including his competitor LeBron James.
Jordan nearly gets outplayed by a referee
Yes, Michael Jordan has to be one of the greatest players ever but was he actually challenged by a referee? A video had surfaced on the internet showing Jordan on a fast break taking visibly long steps. Jordan was known for being lengthy in reach but behind Jordan ran a referee who seemed to be well ahead of the player taking even more massive leaps.
