“I will not remain silent” When Ayesha Curry accused NBA of being ‘Rigged for Money’ after controversial Stephen Curry foul

Stephen Curry has been a victim towards many unfair calls during his career. The NBA has had many situations where players would completely lose their cool over the tiniest reasons be it because of the officiating or their opponents. Many times referees have been called out for being biased calling fouls for their favored teams.

We all remember the 2016 NBA Finals when the point guard lost his temper and threw his mouth piece to the stands over a bad foul call. It is a very rare sighting to have a player like him react that way. Stephen Curry was fouled out of the game after picking up his sixth call. During the 2015-16 season, he averaged only 2.4 fouls per game and never recorded more than 5 in any situation.

Ayesha Curry did not take the referees calls and criticized the NBA for hiring officials as such. “I’ve lost all respect sorry this is absolutely rigged for money. I won’t be silent. Just saw it live sry,” she said in a tweet which was removed shortly after. She would later try to explain her side, once again tweeting,”Tweeted in the heat of the moment because the call was uncalled for.”

She said in a series other tweets, “Police racial profiled my father and told him to remove credentials and tried to arrest him. It’s been a long night for me. I apologize.” And, ”I’m okay we lost… I just can’t take people coming at my family for absolutely no reason. Something I don’t understand or stand for.” Ayesha tried pin her personal issues as a reason why she had an outburst on Twitter. Unfortunately, the Golden State Warriors failed to close out the series. LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers won their first ever NBA title.

Stephen Curry missed his opportunity to three-peat for the championship that season. However, he along with Kevin Durant would go out to win back to back titles in the following seasons. In 2016, Steph became the first ever unanimous MVP of the league as well. Durant would part ways with the team in 2019 to join the Brooklyn Nets and the three-point king was labelled as someone who would never win another title.

This year he shut down all the experts that put forth their opinions saying that KD was the reason why he had two extra rings. Steph helped his team bounce right back into the finals following Klay Thompson’s return and two whole seasons of injuries. He averaged 31.2 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists to win his first ever Finals MVP award as well.
