Nets megastar Kevin Durant has reportedly requested a trade away from Brooklyn Nets after spending 3 seasons at the New York Based Franchise. Nets have received dozens of calls from other franchises inquiring about the forwards’ availability and Nets’ demands. ESPN reported on Friday morning that Nets GM Sean Marks is working with Durant and his agent Rich Kleiman on finding a trade destination. The league is about to enter the free agency period, but it might be on long pause until the Kevin Durant situation is resolved. So after sorting out the Kyrie Irving situation, there is already an unbelievable drama, with Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant demanding out. Durant had given his wish list, but the Nets would be looking to get the best returns for their franchise player.

Title contenders the Phoenix Suns are reportedly his preferred landing spot, according to Yahoo Sports, while the Miami Heat are another team on his wish list. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski though reported the Nets will move Durant “where they can get the best deal”. Woj tweeted, “With four years on his contract, there’s no shortage of teams willing to unload assets for Durant,”

It has been a roller coaster ride for the Brooklyn Nets in the past 3 seasons as they were able to get a dynamic Duo in Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving back in 2019. Then they added another MVP to the mix when they traded for James Harden in 2020. But Things started to crumble quickly for them as Kyrie’s situation, Harden’s sour relations, and the team’s poor performances couldn’t give Nets fans much to smile about.

Now Kevin Durant is looking for a trade, which could again be a cornerstone in Brooklyn’s history. As per ESPN, “As the Nets prepare to move one of the most valuable trade assets ever on the market, the entire roster will available to discuss in deals, sources tell ESPN. Teams have been calling on Durant, and the Nets will certainly look for a historic return on players and draft picks.”

Durant signed a four-year, $194 million contract extension with the Nets last off-season that will kick in this week, meaning any team that signs Durant will be assured of having him until 2026. With nearly 20+ teams possibly looking out for the mega trade, Brooklyn would have a lot to choose from for their generational star player.
