News broke that the Milwaukee Bucks are planning to hire Toronto Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin as Bucks’ new coach potentially pointing out Nick Nurse is off the table, NBA fans on Twitter ripped off the Bucks and their front offices’ decision to hire an assistant.

The Milwaukee Bucks season ended on an embarrassing 4-1 loss to the 8th seed Miami Heat led by Jimmy Butler and his coach Erik Spoelstra. The Bucks were the number one pick by both fans and experts to win the Eastern Conference but failed to do so after losing in the first round to the sneaky Miami Heat defence. This loss led to the departure of their championship head coach Mike Budenholzer who was heavily criticized for his failure to make adjustments during crucial parts of the series. One of the reasons the Bucks lost in the Playoffs came from the coaching side.

Giannis Antetokounmpo wanted to defend Jimmy Butler but out of respect left it up to Jrue Holiday and coach Mike Budenholzer, this strategy backfired as the Bucks were too heavy-handed on Jrue on both defence and offense. “Out of respect, you’ve got to let the coach make that adjustment,” Giannis said. “We had our best defender on him … [Holiday] is so competitive. He plays so hard that he wanted to take the challenge. At the end of the day, I wish I could’ve guard him [Jimmy Butler] more.”

With Antetokounmpo’s trade rumours floating around it is surprising to see what route the Bucks Front Office is taking by firing Budenholzer and hiring a novice of a coach in Adrian Griffin who had been on several NBA teams but never as a head coach.

The Bucks management is getting flamed by NBA fans on Twitter for attempting to hire Adrian Griffin who is a massive downgrade from their former head coach Budenholzer who led the Team to win 70% of their games during his tenure with the Bucks and won the Coach of the Year award recently.

The Bucks’ decision is facing a heavy troll job by fans on Twitter with people calling it a decision that will lead to the departure of Antetokounmpo, you can see the reactions below :

Although trade rumours are flowing in by the day, there is no indication that Giannis might leave the Bucks and plans to play out his 5 year/ 228 million contract and hopefully make a run to the Finals again.
