Candace Parker, Charles Barkley

Charles Barkley has produced many amusing moments in his 38 years of public life, but this one tops them all. Even Chuck’s slick conversation can occasionally come out as odd. It became clear when he made an innocent flirting approach to WNBA star Candace Parker.

Charles Barkley was one of the NBA’s most entertaining players, and thankfully for us, his 16-year Hall of Fame playing career didn’t come to a stop there. Since then, he has enjoyed a long career as a commentator on TNT’s Inside the NBA, for which he has received numerous Emmy Awards. Without a doubt, Barkley has never been afraid to voice his opinions on, well, anything.

In light of these factors, Chuck has surely provided us with some memorable moments throughout the years, one of which was his epic attempt to lead on Candace Parker. He also has no problem embarrassing himself for laughs from other co-hosts of Inside the NBA.

During the NBA All-Star Game in 2019, the inside crew had Candace Parker and Kevin Garnett on the set as guest stars. When Charles Barkley was asked to insert his shirt by the co-hosts, out of nowhere he said: “Hey, Candace…I wanna say this! You’re almost looking as good as I do baby!” Parker then refuted by saying: “Get outta here Chuck.”

Charles Barkley and his short stint in the NBA with legendary accolades

Charles Barkley is without a doubt the most peculiar basketball player in history. Despite being billed as 6 feet 6 but actually measuring closer to 6 feet 4 due to his stature, he was one of the best power forwards in NBA history, dominating opponents who were half a foot taller.

Only six other NBA players—Kevin Garnett, Wilt Chamberlain, Karl Malone, Tim Duncan, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar—have at least 20,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, and 4,000 assists.

Even though the abovementioned stars are much larger than the “Round Mound of Rebound,” Barkley falls within that category.

Charles Barkley participated in several All-Star games and was named the All-Star MVP in 1991. He also represented as the league MVP in 1993. He was also a member of the NBA All-Star team for most of his career. When Barkley threw in the towel playing basketball in 1999, he was elected into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame seven years later, in 2006. Additionally, he was named for the 50th and 75th-anniversary teams of the NBA.

Candace Parker’s illustrious WNBA career

Candace Parker is a well-known and talented female basketball player. The 2008 overall first-round selection has a long record of achievements to her account. In addition to winning two WNBA MVP titles and being named Rookie of the Year, Parker has also won two Olympic Gold Medals. She also created league history by being the first player to win both the MVP and Rookie of the Year awards in the same calendar year.

Candace Parker is still a very talented player in the league even though she might not be performing at the same level she once did.
