Ime Udoka emerges as the leading candidate for Brooklyn Nets’ Head Coach position

Brooklyn Nets have instated Jacque Vaughn as the acting head coach for the team till the position remains vacant. General Manager Sean Marks denied any reports about the already made decision to hire the new coach. But there have been reports circling around the league that the Nets might have already made the decision about bringing in former Celtics Head Coach, Ime Udoka.

If Udoka becomes the next coach of the Nets, he would bring his own issues into an already turbulent scenario. He guided the Celtics to the NBA Finals in his debut season in Boston, which was a breakthrough. Udoka fell into controversy after having a “consensual” relationship with a female staff member of the team, which was against the team’s acting policy.

The hiring of Ime Udoka might once again distract the team from basketball as the team is already dealing with Kyrie Irving’s anti-semitism controversy. The 2022-23 season has already been challenging for the Brooklyn Nets, off the court as well as on the court as the team (2-6) again fell to the Chicago Bulls.
